NatXotic
Hiya, Just wanna know if this thing is same everywhere or just here on my machine. I have some custom parameters and they sometimes get unnecesarily (what? misspelled, but don't know better) large. I will also post this at sideFX, but can' access their site atm. I have made a screenshot, so that anybody can see. Cheers
Marc
hmmm.. that is odd. Sadly I haven't used the custom tools that much yet, so I can't help you. If you get anything from the SESI forum then let us know... Cheers Marc
NatXotic
couldn't post yet their site was down, and then when it was up again, the server refused to take my post. i'll try it some other time.
edward
From your screen shot, it looks like your Head Control parameter is of type "Angle" with size set to 3. While possible, no where in Houdini have I ever seen anyone do that. I think we always use a size of 1 for the Angle type. Try using either a Vector type or a Direction type. Judging from the names of your parameters, Vector type seems most appropriate to me.
NatXotic
i've done this because it was the quickest way for rotating my head bone. Is there a way to decrease the size of the field for the angle control? 4 to 5 digits should be enough. edited: maybe with tcl/tk scripting? the UI is tcl based right? edward
The quickest way to rotate your head bone is to use the Transform tool and select your head bone. Make sure that its select (brown) flag is turned on.
NatXotic
hehe, yap. but what if i want all my controls in one place? Like i have? See i've done the same with the wrist. so that i have the wrist, the fingers and all together in one character control node. Just wanna know if that's possible. edward
In H6.1, make sure your control node is selectable but the objects within it _not_ selectable. So that way, when you have Select Entire Subnets turned off, picking on the objects inside will select the control node. Now, if you use the Pose tool to do the selecting, ALL the handles which you have defined in your control node will show up.
