Mcronin
Not personally, but there are quite a few Mandrake users on the SESI boards so it must work at the very least.

MatrixNAN
Me too but my X1 256 pro card from ATI is not compatable so I have to go back over to red hat and I really hate red hat in comparison. Make sure you are using a Nvidia card because Mandrake 9.1 has a Nvidia kernel so you can't just install the nvidia kernel mod you have to uninstall the kernel too ... reinstall shall I say the OS or custom compile a new kernel yourself without the Nvidia and optimise it. Which is of course the best solution. Cheers, Nate Nesler
noworries
Yeah, I have an ATi so you guys were right, I'm sticking with RH9 (I hope LD_ASSUME_KERNEL variable will not be necesary with H6.1). Anyhow, thanks for your answers.
tallkien
(I hope LD_ASSUME_KERNEL variable will not be necesary with H6.1) It is i'm afraid, Helps to put it in your houdini launch script as opposed to systemwide. That way when the shell goes down, so does the envar. Not too sure about the new 6.1.149 for Linux8 though. might be worth a shot
