Nibbler
Any chance of recording the 'Building VOP networks' class and posting online, for those of us that aren't in the LA area? Thanks forget about it ! they do it just for locals, for locals only man... I think they don't know how to record stuff they try to advertise Houdini and get more users but in the fact they piss off our needs - yeah SESI there are pple who wanna learn more and more not only in Santa Monica, it won't be suprise with Yours weak marketing skills that Autodesk will buy You one day share the knowledge, if You don't have camera to record WE can buy You a camera... Peter Quint do 10000 times better job then You doing tutorials and Yours education department is good just for locals

They will never touch the bar with tutorials from cmiVFX or other resources which has grown in the past 1 1/2 years. Yes, Peter Quints short tutorials are very good, I like it very much but. What is actually out there concerning houdini tutorials you have stuff for month to learn and try. So you wanna learn? Go to cmiVFX, go to SESI, go to cg-masters.com .... and look in the forums in which people have put in they hip files. Netvudu
uh? what´s with the attitude Nibbler? Personally, I´m quite happy with SESI support of their user base. I think they do take a lot of effort to send much quality material our way.
dennis.albus
I think the problem with recording those sessions is that they are in fact classroom sessions and not linear presentations. People are actually doing stuff during those sessions so it might not be that easy to just record it and show it to other users. They are testing the webinar system right now to have an interactive approach in their online teaching as well. From what I heard they are however planning on having extra recording sessions for their classroom training to make that information accessible to the whole userbase. Darric
Woo, I think I nabbed the last spot. I'm so glad I can finally attend these things, even if it meant moving across the world. ><
Chris3D
I must also chime in here. SESI has the best support for their customer base. Thank You. The only company that I thought came close is when Maya was actually an Alias{Wavefront product. As far as training goes everything that SESI has done is FREE, except for some of the local classes there was a small charge if you were not a user. Honest I miss the opportunity of attending the classes. Also remember as far as training goes from 3rd parties Houdini is in its infancy. I would highly recommend for those that are looking the cmiVFX videos are very good - start with the fundamentals - the video is a little dated, but good stuff. Another that was not mentioned was the work from 3dbuzz it was excellent FREE introduction to Houdini 9/10. And yes Peters stuff is really super - hope he keeps sharing. The CGMasters tutorials are another excellent source - nice little projects and well explained overviews. So that is my two-cents. So please quit winning about recorded sessions they are doing the best they can as they grow and learn. Be Thankful fro how much they care about their users.
