Adam Ferestad
I have figured out the basic modification network that I want to use for my next tutorial, but I am missing a few things and there seems to be some sort of glitch with my geo-light. The image below shows the problem I am having. All of the particles should be lit up, but for some reason they are not. I am going to do some tutorials I found to try to get the other parts of the scene that I need, but if they don't do it for me, I'll come back and ask my questions. My biggest thing is... why aren't they lighting up right?
anim
can you post hip file?
Adam Ferestad
Sure. I have been working on it a bit, still no luck, but I switched from a popnet to copy sop with spheres as my input geometry. Same problem, but it solves some others having to do with speed. light_string.hipnc
Adam Ferestad
ok, just did a test where I took the bucket size from 32 to 4 and it appears to be rendering everything right. So now the question is... Why? Edit: Spoke too soon, one of the spheres glitched. But only one by the looks of it. mawi
I´m no render guy but, you got the "render light geometry" switch on at the same time you are rendering the actually geometry(geo1). The light geometry and the mesh might intersect.
Adam Ferestad
You are absolutely right mawi. It was the geometry intersecting with the light. Thanks. Now I just need to figure out how to get the spheres so I can turn them off and leave the string. I have a few ideas, but I will have to play with it. Thank you so much.
