Rvb
Hi everyone! I'm trying to use a texture with my rendering but I don't know if I do it the proper way. In the attachment you can see the texture colormap and the mplay colormap. I've set the gamma value to 2.2 in mplay but the texture looks flat/grayish. Is this correct? Or do I need to use some extra steps? I've created a mantra surface material and attached it to the barrel. I hope someone can give me a headsup of how to work with textures and gamma Regards, Rogier
jason_slab
you need to convert your texture to linear, we usually just drop a color-correction node in the shader (after the texture node) and set the gamma to 0.45 j
sanostol
you have to gammacorrect Your textures by 0.454545 either on disk or in the shading network Martin EDIT: too late Edited September 2, 2011 by sanostol
Rvb
Ahhh great! You know I red it somewhere so I know I had to change to gamma of the material. But I didn't know where. But thanks to you guys I do know! Thanks! Rogier
