Erik_JE
Does anyone have any experience running Houdini on the graphics integrated on the i7 2600K. Does it run at all? It would be a nice way to split the cost of buying a workstation if the graphic card could be bought on a separate salary

It would be a nice way to split the cost of buying a workstation if the graphic card could be bought on a separate salary I have a ThinkPad with both the Sandy Bridge integrated graphics (like the 2600K has) and a discrete Quadro chip, and it can run either switched by software while running or set which to use in the BIOS. When set to use only integrated graphics it is very buggy and slow, I wouldn't recommend it at all. Previous generations of Intel graphics are completely unusable as Houdini would simply crash upon loading. A $50 discrete card would like this be better than the integrated graphics by far.
