attributes in POPs

Recommended Posts

hey,

How can i activate a source POP via a primitive attribute... i brought several animated primitives into pops ... a primitive attribute was generated via the measureSOP in SOPs. It becomes 1 when the area of the primitive exceeds a specific Size... so every primitive that exceeds that specific size should get activated as a source in POPs

Hope thats coherent

thank you

here is the scene macha ... maybe i'd run into problems because i have multible sources in the POP sourcing based on other groups...

i thought the activation parameter in the source POP should be ideal for that ? ... are there striclty no primitive attributes in POPs?

thank you

Not sure you can do that in the source pop. Try something with birth probability -good luck. I would be tempted the blast away the primitives just before the popnet.

If i understand correctly. You don't have to have so many source pops for something like this.

you already have group called "grownup" so use that to source inside pops using only one source pop.

Just specify group in to source group field. Pops generate particles as in when the source geometry comes inside the group.

Cheers !!

yes, but haveing a source for each primitive gives me better control over the particle count per primitive...

thank you

I have controlled birthing based on birth probability in past via attributes, which macha also described.

Attached hip could be a work around based on the current situation. I am sure you have already thought of it.

Other than that not too sure.

Cheers :)
