Emit particles from dynamic fracturing (H12)

Hi !

I'm still very new to Houdini, hope to get an answer here. :)

Can anyone point me to a good tutorial on how to :

- created debris particles on the breaking surfaces when using dynamic fracturing (Bullet, H12)

- assign some geometry and mass to it

- have the shards and particles interact with a grid-based 'dust volume' (fluid).

Could I also use older tutorials and/or what are the fundamental changes for this with H12 ?

Please let me know .. ;)

This is quite the open ended question. Usually with something so advanced it's helpful to get a scene started and post that with the question about whatever part you are stuck at. But in response to your question voroni fracture dop offers output of collision points. You could use those to drive your emission.

hehe .. Houdini is also an open ended software .. ;)

ok, I've played around a little and came uf with the attached scene.

first question now is how to access the fracture surfaces and create particles on them (which then can bounce off the other shards).

I guess doing the things step by step is easiest !

I recently finished it and found it to be really nice.
