stevenong
Hi there, Try searching on the net to see if there's a OBJ export plugin for max. Or you can export DXF instead. Also, please look at the Formats.pmk.pdf file for a list of formats Houdini supports. Cheers! steven

Mcronin
You need a plugin to export OBJs from Max, there are a bunch of free ones on the net. Also, there is a way to bake you animation into a series of OBJs, it's a feature of Max. Unfortunately I haven't used Max in a couple years and I can't remeber the name of the tool. meshsmooth
To generate an object for each frame just use the snapshot tool and specify it to go over multiple frames. Or even make a max script macro to snapshot and export the face at the current frame and step through each frame. The second may be easer because if you want to have an object in a separate file this may be easer. If a file with all the faces in the one file is ok snapshot tool is your friend. If you cant find the snapshot tool just search help for it.

bfx
Hi here you will find a 3dsmax script to export polygons with uv (or not) to houdini. It create padded houdini geo file. With max compound object you will have to add an editMesh before to export. If not you may not be able to pick the object. Let me know if you use it thanks francois b.fx@free.Fr maxpoly2houdini_beta1.00.zip
