Solitude
Yeah you fixed it -- as long as it renders like that. There are still a few splotches on the leg, but that's not a huge issue. I was referring more to the way I've done it with openvdb and / or houdini volumes. You can kind of use volumes in leiu of the cookie sop or booleans. http://fx-td.com/con...t.1.jpg With openvdb they have these things called Hermite grids which should create seamless cuts somehow, but they aren't in the release yet. Also: https://vimeo.com/54488860 Is using my setup. Side note: The booleans in 3ds Max are really good (a bit buggy when I used them) and Rayfire uses them for everything but the voronoi, and it does an awesome job at making relatively clean geometry. vi_rus
But the most coolest feature of this tool is stability. I did lots of tests and it hanged only few times. You can compare the same model with built-in voronoi fracture. Even with 50 points it hangs in 6 second(latest build). voronoi_test.hip Edited January 14, 2013 by vi_rus
notawhale
Interesting tool. Can you show wire shading? Are you save original topology?
vi_rus
Yes, shatter cuts source geo and builds only internals

Netvudu
ouch...paid apprentice version. I understand your reasons, but I´ll pass. (for the record, I absolutely support paid commercial versions of tools, and I think most of them are even too cheap. I do not understand making people pay for non-commercial stuff). I´m sure it´s a great tool though and undoubtly many people will get it so you can get back some of your effort. vi_rus
So, next step is creating dynamic fracturing system. Check out first test. I'm still working on performance and fracturing algorithm. https://vimeo.com/58466873
