Doum
Hello, I'm a newby with houdini and I'm trying to play with Vopsop displace along normal. I want to play with the patterns nodes, but it seems that they need uv coordinates. I my SOP network I have a grid, uv project and the vopsop node. How can I access the uv coord inside the vopsop and plug them in the input of the wanted patterns? Maybe that not the way it is supposed to work? I hope it is clear enough, I'm not really used to all these houdini terms. Thx Doum
Annon
Just use the x and z pos values if its a grid using the vector to float node. Otherwise can't you just use the UV coords from globaLs?

Annon
Sorry in not in front of a computer at the moment, but try an import attribute, set it to UV, vector and vector to float etc. If your UVs are vertex attributes, attribute promote them to point attributes before hand... Annon
Lower case uv, bloody predictive text!!!
Doum
Thanks guys, the node (import attribute) seem to be really useful . I'm curious about the use of Facet node in your tree Zarti, what the purpose of that node? Is it there for future use?
Annon
The facet node was probably used to generate normals.

Thx Christian You really seem to have a nice community around houdini software... I'm a XSI user for about 6 years now doing ICE since 3 years and I'm trying to learn houdini. I think the thinking of this community will help me a lot
