Alexey Vanzhula
1. I had 3 animated fractured objects. If export all objects with Alembic ROP it works well. 2. But i need export ObjectMerge SOP where this objects are stored. In this situation export fails and Alembic ROP give me warning: Warning: /obj/mergedObjects/geo1/object_merge1 - primitive count changed (1 vs. 2) What i need to do for export ObjectMerge SOP? scene - http://dl.dropbox.co...ured_export.hip Edited February 1, 2013 by Alexey Vanzhula
gui
don´t know why, but the problem only happens inside a subnetwork, I used a geo node in /obj/ with the merge inside and it exported fine...

Do you mean ObjectMergeSOP? At now i tried, and it also fails out of subnetwork (/obj). Can you post your scene?

Alexey Vanzhula
Also, as you can see, animation stoped when any object contact witth ground and fractured. In other words the first contact spoils an alembic. Edit: With 2 objects it is different situations when everything normally... Alexey Vanzhula
Strange. If i set sphere type as PolygonMesh (not Mesh) it works well )
Alexey Vanzhula
Yes, it really not correctly exports Mesh-type geometry with topology changed in time. But strangeness that at a normal method (not ObjectMerge SOP) everything is normal Any ideas?
breadbox
I have the same problem. I have an alembic file that I exported from C4D with new objects/primitives being created. this alembic file imports back into C4D just fine, no issues. It imports into Houdini just fine, it brings in the changing primitive count. However, it will not export when i export it renders the first 15 frames or so until the faces/objects are changing primitive counts then it stops writing the file. error message is attached. hip scene and alembic attached AlembicTest.hip mograph_test_01.zip
