magneto
Hi, I have an open polygon where I want to break off each edge into a separate polygon. I tried the facet sop, fuse sop (unique tab), but they didn't do anything. The order of the points are random, and I have multiple polygons that are like this that I need to break off into separate polygons at once. So something like this: I was hoping this would be done without using the foreach sop. But all ideas are welcome. Thanks
3__
try curvesect, connect to both inputs.
magneto
Never mind Carve sop for 0 to 1 with Cut At all Internal U Breakpoints works great. Didn't realize it would do that
magneto
Thanks Craig I tried what you said but it didn't split each edge, although the number of polygons increased a little but not the right number.

boby
Hi ! I bump this thread cause i'm having an issue using this technique. Strangly, some points are randomly not split as expected, can someone help? See file linked Thanks question_carve.hipnc
old school
Please submit the bug along with the file. Copy/Paste/append a second carve SOP placed after the first catches that last primitive as a work-around.
boby
Hi old school ! Do you mean report a bug to SESI? As i just begin using houdini, i'm not sure sure that's a bug, but more a user issue Did you check the hip? Thanks !
old school
It is a bug. I opened the file and replicated the issue. Appended a second Carve SOP and it got it. Yes submit the bug in to Side Effects. One of the primitives contains three points coming out of the Carve SOP. Applying a second Carve SOP splits this primitive correctly. If you haven't submitted a bug before, now's a good time to do it. Remember to attach the hip file to the bug as it may be specific to the geometry.
