venator11387
Is there a way to cache Collision data for FLIP? The FLIP sims at a good speed when "Use Deforming Geometry" is off (no more than an hour), but once I turn it on the sim time increases exponentially (at least 10 hours). One method I tried was rop caching the dopimport inside the collision geo's sop network, but the result was the same. Are there other alternative methods to speed up FLIP collisions with Use Deforming Geometry on?
anim
if you are using passive rbds for collision, just cache their sdf and use as proxy volume if you've setup collisions through shelf (Collide with Objects tool) then it is creating sdfs in SOPs using Fluid Source SOP, just cache that before it's taken to DOPs
Skybar
You could drop down a File-node in the DOPnet and write out .sims for your collision geo. Don't know if that is possible though if you are using apprentice.
venator11387
Thanks for the responses. Sorry for the late reply. David, you're right the method you suggested is only for commercial editions. That probably would have solved the issue . Tomas, I tried both of your methods, but like the one I mentioned above the results were the same. In fact, that method didn't really work even without the cache as I saw no collision behavior with the FLIP.
