How to control the UI of a shader using the Output VOP?

Hi,

I was watching Peter Quint's video on UVs where he basically showed a way to layer textures in the shader, but at 10:50, he changed the shader's UI using the Output VOP's connections, via curly braces, etc. I tried to do the same using the Mantra Surface but I don't see the same long list of connections in the Output VOP, nor a way where I can do the same.

Is this something that's changed?
