halion
Is there a way to change the wire frame color when nothing is selected?
edward
If you're viewing objects, just switch to the Misc tab of the object parameters. Turn on Use Display Color and then pick something.
halion
That gives me the effect I want in object mode but not in sops. Sorry I was clear about what I wanted. I meant to say that when I'm in sop mode I was wondering if you can change the wireframe color in there. Sometimes I'll have nothing selected and the wireframe will be black making it hard to see where the points are because of the reference picture. Mcronin
YourHoudiniDir/houdini/config/ There's a bunch of files in there. 3Dscenecolors 3Dscenecolors.bw 3Dscenecolors.wb As far as I can guess, the first is the one that's currently running the second is the one that loads when Houdini starts, and the third is a backup. So... Open the second; 3Dscenecolors.bw, in a text editor, change whatever colors you want and save it. When you restart houdini you should see your spiffy new colors. Stremik
Actually, .bw and .wb stand for "Black and White" and vice versa. When you want to use ither of these color scemes, you just delete the extention while giving an extention to the current 3DSceneColors file. Next time you load Houdini, new file(the one without extention) will be loded. ONLY the one without extention will be loaded! For more on this see Installation.fmk.pdf file under: Installing Houdini->Customising Your Installation-> Interface Colors -> How to Customize the Interface Colors
halion
Hey thanks for all the replies guys. I ended up turning the write protection on 3Dscenecolors.bw off and then I edited the color for the wireframe. Now I have nice easy to see red.
