dpap
Why can't I see the color of the cylinder when its inside the cube? refraction.hip

dpap
Thanks Mangi! I guess I had underestimated the specific tab! It does change though the look of the shader by a lot if you enable it while refraction and sss are on .
mawi
Try the Faux caustic checkbox instead.
dpap
Awesome!!! Thanks Mawi!!! Edit---------------------------- hmmm ...definitely better with "faux caustics" but you get something like an artifact at the intersection point..Is there a way to get rid of it? refraction 1.hip Edited January 25, 2014 by dpap
Green-Man
Looks like you should decrease the bias of the rays. Edited January 26, 2014 by Green-Man
dpap
Thanks Green-Man!!! I don't know if there is a dowside in this but setting the Bias to 0.000001 makes it disappear!
Green-Man
If you set the global bias to very small value is for example becomes possible for objects to shadow itself. So technically the surface could send a ray in some direction and hit itself in in the origin of the ray. 0.000001m = 10e-6m =1000 nanometres. Nanographics is coming:)
