Group individual objects in an object merge (with multiple merges)

Recommended Posts

I have a bunch of modelled objects that I brought into Houdini and I want to scatter the different objects over a floor for interaction.

The way I'm currently doing it is to object merge each piece individually then create a group for each piece before adding them as a fractured RBD.

I know there's a smarter way to do this, perhaps using a partition or for each?

How would I distinguish between each piece of geo. The only way I can select each individual piece of geo in the viewport is to choose primitives with select "select connected geometry" checked.

Cool thanks

There's also check box in the object merge that splits all your objects into groups , then you can add a for each after that and a copy stamp to vary the objects over the grid

wow nice! I didn't knew. I guess one learn stuff everyday
