3ds Max 2015 is released

Recommended Posts

I have to post this because their #1 new feature (or first major mentioned) is Quad Chamfer, sigh:

http://area.autodesk.com/3dsmax2015

And they claim they listen to customers using their User Voice website:

http://3dsmaxfeedback.autodesk.com/forums/80695-general-feature-requests/filters/top

Then how come the real most requested features are ignored? :) Because they are very hard to implement so probably less profits for Autodesk.

The user voice site is not a bad idea to gauge user interest though.

Any ideas what might be in H14 for us SESI fanatics? :)

I'm still laughting from Maya 2015. Bifrost was such a hyped feature. I was preparing that Autodesk will give some ICE 2015 in it, and what we got is another f*cking menu.

I haven't used Bifrost but heard it lacks key features like viscosity? All Autodesk can do is to come up with fancy names, that's all.

What does "Max" actually stand for then? Maximum Management Incompetence/Impotence, Maximum Hype, Maximum Spam etc

Heh Max peaked at 3.1, only reason to use it since is the plugins - where some of the most useful development has been happening.

..the funny thing about the MAIN FEATURE quad chamfer, it its and was available for 20 $ from the developer:   http://www.mariussilaghi.com/products/quad-chamfer-modifier  ...and this is same tool which autodesk implented in 2015 and sell as main feature.

by the way, I really would like to the this kind auf robust and fast chamfer tool in houdini. and it produce really clean bevel egde (all quads).
