edward
Scale Volume is set to -1 bcoz vdb is negative inside and positive outside. There are reasons for inverting the volume fields, but you should understand why. Different sign conventions for "inside" vs "outside" SDF values between VDB and native Volumes is not one of them. A quick test that demonstrates this is attached. vdbSameAsVol.hipnc
sliver
Thank you Edward for you mesage, it's interesting to understand why. I have check you file and see the difference between them. I haven't a lot of experience with volume and I'm wondering how to know, when I have to invert volume fields with this example ? because visualy they have not a lof of difference. Thank you very much.
edward
My file demonstates that the "sign convention" between VDB and Volumes are the *SAME*.
