point wrangle question

hey,

 

first of all,

i am new to houdini

so this question might be stupid!

 

 

i was going through this side fx video

 

41:00 minutes and ahead

 

 

he goes through the video and talks about using

a shell terminal and using the command

vcc -X sop

 

now in Houdini when i open

window > shell

and give the command i get this error

 

-bash: vcc: command not found

 

am i using the wrong shell window?

Which OS are you on? Try starting up Command Line Tools instead.

i am on a MAC

 

but since u mentioned

so looked up the same in a windows machine

 

after googling for some time i found that

on windows it works if u go to

 

Start Menu > All Programs > Side Effects Software > Houdini X.X.XXX > Command Line Tools

 

here the command is working fine

dont know how to get this working on mac still

On OSX you can try launching:

 

/Applications/Houdini xx.x.xxx/Houdini Shell.terminal

Which incidentally means that it's accessible from Finder and the Applications menu.
