ayidi
Inspired by Renderman's community website, I tried to replicate the industrial and basic glass materials with Mantra. The scenes still need tweaking but I ran out of time. Would anyone be interested in a Mantra procedural materials challenge?
Guest tar
Good for testing ayidi: I'm also finally analysing GPU renderers form the block-diagram up to try to nut out how good/appropriate GPU rendering is too, as no one seems to yet be able to give the answers I need... everyone goes quiet if you ask them how good indirect lighting is there

Sierra62
Hey Zoran, I am loving your work, how are you finding the render time with mantra compared to renderman?
zoki
Thanks Cody I think mantra is getting better and better with every release. I didnt use renderman for a few years now and soem of GI /PBR stuff still seems complicated. For precise comparisoon I will need to do more test with both through Houdini, not use rman in Maya. After all the current rendering sampling test on odforce and good advice from Jeff on noise and sampling, new noise section in documentation I feel very confident to do any kind of rednering job in mantra, film, anim or visualization.
