Mdonovan
Hey Guys, I am using the xColorize sop to color points on a particle emitter. The problem I am having is that even though the color points in my ramp are set to constant, Houdini seems to be interpolating through those colors. I have limited my colors to blues/bluegreens but because the value of RED is changing based on the brightness of the blue, I am seeing some purples in the end result. Any thoughts ? Thanks Mike Edited July 31, 2015 by Mdonovan
Skybar
I have no idea what that Colorize asset does, so it's hard to say.
Mdonovan
It looks like it just generates a random seed and then pulls a value from the ramp. Its part of the xTools library. I'm just going to make my own from scratch. Edited July 31, 2015 by Mdonovan
Skybar
Alright, so it creates a random vector attribute which drives the ramp. Try driving the ramp with a single float attribute instead.
acey195
also because it blends between points, you may need to use a high-density "resample" node before your colorize to make the transitions more crisp. if you want there to be 0 blending at all, you will have to use primitive color instead of point color
