Evgeny_rus
Hi Please look at the file. I have roto shape in cop and I wan't to use it in material. If I take clay material and put op:/obj/cop2net1/OUT in base color map field then it works. But if I go inside material and put this reference directly in surface color node then I get mantra: Unable to load texture 'op:/obj/cop2net1/OUT' Why? cop_reference_wtf.hipnc
davpe
hi, didn't have a time to open up and examine your scene, but I think the issue is probably that you have to first promote a parameter and then reference from that parameter, not directly from a SHOP node. that is probably the reason why it worked in the first case and not in the second one. Evgeny_rus
davpe Thank you for reply. For some reason it didn't work when I promoted it manually. Now it works. I actually thought that all this parameter interface stuff exist only for esthetic purpose). Pretty confusing behaviour in my opinion. Atom
There are also width/height limitations for the usage of op:/ in Apprentice version of Houdini. You can't set your COP network output larger than the license allows.
davpe
Evgeny: yeah, it should be pointed out more I guess. However I think that defining parameter works as a translator from Hscripted reference to VEX language (correct me anyone if I am wrong).
