cgcris
Hi guys, looking at buying a small factor for home. I would like to able to do some Houdini stuff once in a while. Now I haven't built a PC for a long time, my last processor was a q6600 So which one should I go for? I was just thinking of getting an x99 didn't even know Z170 existed... Skybar
Well, Skylake only have max 4/8 cores/threads - whereas with Haswell-E you can get 6/8 cores 12/16 threads. It mostly depends on if you need more singlethread power or multithread. I guess the 6-core is a good inbetween if you can't decide. Both of them support DDR4 RAM as well
