Atom
Hi All, I am trying to scatter some points within the Houdini Logo. I pulled down the logo from SideFX website and converted it to AI8 format using Illustrator. Houdini can read this file but when I try to scatter points within it, they only scatter on the sides of the extrusion. Does anyone know how to fix this, so the Scatter puts points evenly within the shape of the logo? I did add a Volume node as well but that really did not help. scatter_logo_issue.zip Edited October 6, 2015 by Atom
mestela
Stick a convert after the extrude, looks like scatter doesn't like those bezier surfaces.
Maurits
You could also convert the object to fog volume using a isooffset node and then scatter.this should then also scatter points on the inside of the object and not just on the polygons. You could then even combine the results. for more detail in the result you might need to tweak the uniform sampling in the isooffset
Atom
Thanks, both solutions work.
