magneto
Hi, I have some curves (spirals, etc) that I surfaced using PolyWire, but I am not sure how to create UVs for these. I tired using Unwrap SOP on the curves but I couldn't get a good result. I was hoping I could AttribTransfer this. Then I tried the default UVs provided by PolyWire but they look compressed. Should I be using PolyWire's UVs? If so, how can I create uncompressed/uniform look along the curve, as opposed to using point density for the scale of the UVs. Thanks
mestela
Generate uv's on the curves before you polywire. Point attributes get transferred to the polywire shapes. curve_uv.hip Edited November 10, 2015 by mestela
Wout
In case anyone else is looking for this, I just found a very elegant and simple solution: use the @ptnum attribute and @ptnum+1 for the V coordinate !
snoot
I made a tool that does exactly this! It's free download. Fixes the both U and V coordinates mainly be looking at topology and connections. Found here: PolyWire UVs — Richard C Thomas Hope it helps!
