render box motion blur

Recommended Posts

You need to add a trail sop to the object that contains the particles and set it to compute velocity. Then go up one level and under the Render TAB under Sampling activate Geometry Velocity Blue.

Overview:

1.) Activate  Velocity Blur on Object.

2.) Turn on Motion Blur in Mantra Node.

3.) Make sure your object is generating velocity attribute (particles probably are, otherwise add a Trail SOP to compute velocity from motion).

particles should have velocity, but a copy won't push the velocities onto the copied geo unless you activate it.  there is a tab (attributes, i think) on the copy sop that lets your enable the transfer of attributes form your template geo onto your copied geo.  normally it's disabled.  the defaults rules should work fine for you.
