Alembic Houdini to Maya collapse shape nodes

Hello guys,

 

I am exporting geometry (bubbles) from Houdini to Maya using Alembic. Even though I have one transform node in Maya, I get thousands of shape nodes (one for each bubble) which make the file unusable. I tried all Collapse Object methods at the Alembic Out module with no luck. Any hints? Thank you.
