macj89
Hello lads! I am a Junior Maya VFX Artist (1 year experience) trying to evolve into a full Houdini artist. I have been playing with houdini for 3 or 4 months and now I want to build a small houdini reel. What effects do you think guys, for Commercial industry, should I focus my learning and projects? I mean, what type of effects should I focus my reel on? There should be some "standard" effects that are usually more useful for commercial than others... For example, I think that driven fluids (or atleast that seems, dont know how to do it yet) are very common in detergent and soap commercials (u know, that 2 streams of detergent colliding into the washing machine and that stuff haha). What do you think I should focus on? Thank you very much for your time!
benne5
Hi Miguel, In addition to your standard fire, water, and dust I would recommend a high quality particle effects simulation using millions of particles. (i.e. http://www.gridmarkets.com/phill-mayer.html ) Best of Luck!
