catchyid
Hi, I have a video that I want to display as a background video to a camera, is this possible in Houdini? I can display a background image, but a video does not seem to work? As a workaround, I am converting the video to image sequence so it can be loaded ... Update: When I used an image sequence (png), playback becomes really slow, to make it worse it's an empty scene! Is there anyway to improve playback speed? Thanks Edited September 17, 2016 by catchyid
Atom
Try using a half size JPEG version image sequence with mild compression. The smaller the file the quicker the update. No matter what you probably will never get realtime playback. But I understand the need for smoother scrubbing. Press the D-KEY to bring up the viewport display dialog. Under the Background tab you can change the image brightness, and quality.

riki.risnandar
usin 18.5 here and dont know why with jpg format it's not working (in display configuration and CHOP) but with PNG file it's working for video or static image so yeah we must split the video to individual frames first.. im using davinci resolve for that task
