art3mis
Hi With all the incredible free (entagma) and affordable paid content (Pluralsight, Lynda, etc) its hard to justify paying several HUNDRED dollars for just ONE course! However, I am wondering if the rule 'you get what you pay for' applies also to the world of Houdini tutoring. Can anyone vouch for CGMASterAcademy? Was considering this course http://www.cgsociety.org/training/course/vex-in-houdini
michael
that course is very good - but yeah, $699 US is a hard pill to swallow. it's difficult to asses the value/money for Houdini courses - the pluralsight/digital tutors etc courses are short and, for the most part, quite basic. The CGMASterAcademy stuff that I've seen is much longer and very detailed - but not as detailed as some of the cmivfx stuff - and there you pay for access to the whole site... I'd say cmivfx is the best value for the money.

964racer
I'm on my third CGMA Houdini class. in my view, the price is expensive relative to others online memberships but it's not that expensive relative to other classes or workshops that go into a significant amount of detail at a professional level. The classes are 8 weeks and I am finding that the instructors are pretty top notch in their area.
