art3mis
Somewhat confused when to use reseeding http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini15.5/nodes/dop/flipsolver From the description it seems like a good thing that should ALWAYS be enabled. So as long as you don't experience slowly increasing liquid volume, can you assume Reseeding is beneficial? What about for a static FLIP tank with object dropping into or emerging from the liquid? Reseeding on or off and what are some suggested values?
mosssi
Hi. I faced with situations that it's not ALWAYS. for example when you want a slow motion fluid you must turn it off because you can use a Timeblend sop. In your cases I'm not sure but I think it depends on how you want this to look.
art3mis
Thanks. Not familiar with using Timeblend SOP for slow motion fluids. In my case I'm also creating 'slow motion' but am simply dialling down Scale Time and Timescale from their default of 1.0. From my limited understanding there are 2 ways to slow motion liquids 1- Use the simpler TimeScale option (my approach) disadvantage is that the dynamics of the sim changes 2- Cache out particles then use TimeBlend and TimeWarp after bringing the sim back in. Reseeding should be OFF https://www.sidefx.com/forum/topic/35337/ Will need to do a test to see whether Reseeding has any effect on approach 1.
