adrianr Posted April 14, 2017 Share Posted April 14, 2017 I would say that a lot of that video just looked like geometry/cloth sim with some render time subdivision and low opacity. I wouldn't bother going near a smoke sim to make something that detailed and sharp, though maybe you have more patience than me! One option would be to start with geometry and turn it into a volume before rendering, which will help with the softness, but you would probably have to go to quite a high division size to get that level of detail.
