Instanced geometry penetrates ground plane?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I'm a rookie trying to learn houdini and I have instanced some geometry (spheres) on a dop network. The geometry is colliding with a ground plane but for some reason If I change the velocity type in the pop source node to "add to inherited velocity" and increase its z velocity the instanced geometry is penetrating the ground plane. I did a thorouh search in both odfoce and houdini forums but couldnt find the answer.

Is there a way to fix this and maybe increase the collide radius of the ground plane or something similar?

Thanks in advance

Copying or instancing geometry to a point, after the simulation has computed, will always lead to possible geometric intersections.

The way around this is to submit the full geometry as a RBD object to the simulation.
