art3mis
Hi Have a dual boot windows 10+Ubuntu MATE setup installed on a single Samsung M.2 SSD. Upgrading my system with new mobo and AMD instead of Intel CPU. Everything else(GPU's, memory, external devices) remains the same. Can I simply install the same M.2 into the new mobo and expect it too boot without issue? My guess is no, but what I am hoping is that I won't have to do a complete fresh install of both Linux+Windows and setup the dual boot again Anyone care to chime in? Guest tar
in these situations you just try it out and let us know. Don't think the OS installs for the specific CPU or mobo, though any machine specific license will probably not work.
symek
Ubuntu will work minus graphic card drivers (better to switch to default video driver at old machine). Windows probably won't (at least it never was with Win7).
