Particles going diagonal instead of straight

Hey magicians, I'm learning about velocities on particles, I made a shape that drives the velocity, but the particles are going diagonal instead of straight (the actual shape animation is just a vertical movement).

I can't figure out whats driving this, I don't have any forces, any help will be great.

Are you asking why your velocity is in that direction? Because the reason it's going in that direction is because, well, that's where the vel volume is pointing to. It's what your aa noise there is doing

 

If you just multiply a vector 0, 1, 0 by the sample of your letter, it goes up

Thanks Vitor!, I tried that but I get the volume filled, I used negate and looks good but when I drive the particles looks weird

 

Maybe I didn't explained correctly, what I'm trying to do is in escense be able to drive the velocity of the particles with my own shapes (in the example an A), so I can have more artistic control over the particles, here's an example
