Pearl
Hi All, I just finished the 4 months at VFS for Houdini, and this is the end result. It's a compilation of all the areas of Houdini I tried to play with. I would like to fix up a few things, and start looking for jobs as a Houdini artist. So, I would greatly appreciate any comments and critiques you can throw at me! http://www.pearlhsu.net/videos/presentation360x243.mov (50MB Quicktime MOV 360x243) TABLE OF CONTENTS This is the bubble particles that I had originally shown here at: http://odforce.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=4051 I rerendered with a better specular on the bubbles, and upped the resolution. This is my experimentation with CHOPs-driven animation. Right now it is only triggered by the volume of the input wave file, but I intend on experimenting with midi files in the near future. A very primitive NURBs model I did as part of a class excercise. My dominos project, as previously seen here: http://odforce.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=4178 My Niagara Falls project. http://odforce.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=4052 I fixed the look of the cliff, so now it represents Niagara Falls more accurately, as opposed to the perfect half circle I previously had. I'm still having trouble with the timing though. The VEX water shader I made. It uses the height of the wave to determine whether to show white bubbles or solid color. I also made the functionality to blend the 2 patterns, as well as adjust the distance where the bubbles change intensity. A side project I did on my own time at home. I animated my already done model in Softimage XSI, and imported the geometry into Houdini so I could add particle effects and cloth simulations onto it. Hope you like my presentation! Pearl
Missing ones? I have the big Quicktime files with everything in them (at the beginning of my post). Should I maybe break them up into separate pieces for easier viewing?

lynbo
Pearl I really like the dance piece at the end. That has promise to be a really good piece with a little more polish. Nice work overall especially for only 4 months of training. Good luck! -lyn-
