siris
https://vimeo.com/217732307 I was wondering if anyone could help me to understand this effect. I just find it beautiful and I want to try it myself. I'm new to particle simulations and the particles appear to look like sand grains and then squares in the second clip, I'm unsure how this is achieved in Houdini. wavemode
Well I'm no expert myself but this was a great beginner tutorial on disintegration. It looks like certain parts of that animation are reversing the disintegration animation, possibly with a Time Warp or Retime node. As for rendering the particles as squares or other objects, you could use Copy to Points to copy a square out inplace of the particles. cudarsjanis
Looks like it`s done using grains. This tutorial could help with that. Just instead of gravity apply noise to particles
