Hi, I can’t open your hip right now, but I think there are a couple ways to solve your issue:

1) setting the mass attribute of the grid to 0

2) if you’re using a rbd packed object for the grid you can set the active attribute to 0  

3) if you are using that grid just to hold the wooden pole you can just group the lower pieces and set their mass (or active) attribute to 0.

ahhh...you blinded me with your setup....

Here's option 1, I added an rbdconfigure to pin your gr permanently...works fine.

However you might wanna to go for option 2:

- uncheck the pin. Expand Speed Limit, you'll see I've got Speed/Spin limits setup already, this allows some movement for your base, it might look more realistic....you're the art director, you tweak and decide

actually, here's option 3 which I think looks most realistic, assuming you don't want your base permanently fixed to the ground that is.

The change is in the solver, I've used Torque as threshold to allow some movement in the base, the mode of switching or deleting seems to do the same.
