Azimuth7
Dear friends I´m a new Houdini user and I´m trying to do something different from most of the sand sims. I have a thread of sand falling from the hole of an hourglass, and I´m trying to do build a sand object as the sand falls on the container bellow the hole. The question is, how can I direct my sand particles to become the object that I want? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
ryew
It is always best to post even a simple example file demonstrating what you have tried to do so people can see where your setup logic might be modified or improved for the result you are after
Azimuth7
Sure... something like that, but forming the skeleton with the sand particles that fall...

Azimuth7
Thanks I´ve seen this tutorial before, but what I want to do is quite the opposite. I want to make the sand falls, and fill a geometry. I was trying to do that with grains. I was able to make the sand falls on the hourglass, but I´m trying to use pop attract with grains to attract the grains to the scatter points of the geometry and stick to it, and it´s not working :-(
Lourcloud
Hey, I'm new too btw. A simple workaround until someone more experienced comments is that you could make one sim only falling, and another grain object that is frozen, essentially achieving the same effect? Azimuth7
Indeed you can. I solved the problem using pop attract and making the grains sticking to my geo. But thanks!
