DGrubb
Hello, Does anyone know why I can't get the target path functionality of vellum attach to geometry constraint to work? I can get it to work using the 3rd input to vellum cloth method, but I need to use target path. Bug? Please see attached hip. (h17.5.229) Thanks, Dean. vellum_attach_v1_2.hip
DGrubb
Ok poking around inside the vellum constraint sop, sesi don't seem to have brought in the geometry specified in the target path field anywhere. They only bring in the geo attached to the third input, so when you have a target path set, its trying to create constraints to something that isn't there. I manually object merged it in and it seems to be working now. Anyone know is this is fixed in later builds? Cheers.
Noobini
how about this ? in solver2>Advanced tab vu_vellum_attach_v1_2.hiplc $hit, sorry i'm on 18. Edited July 19, 2020 by Noobini
Noobini
does 17.5 have SOP path in Advanced tab ?
DGrubb
It does, but this doesn't work for my needs because you can't specify a target group, and requires the target and sim geo match, which is why I am using attach to geo (the hip file I attached is just a proof of concept setup). If you're on 18, could you tell me if the attach to geo target path works for you/is fixed? Thanks! Edited July 19, 2020 by DGrubb
Noobini
no by default it doesn't work in 18, unless I fix it. try this: (in 17.5, on your right branch) - change your constraint from attach to geo to pin to target (make sure Match anim is on), run it, you should see it being pinned but not moved. - in solver2>Advanced, change target to SOP path, set to OUT__target1, run it, you should see it moving with the anim...but getting snagged !!! - disable blast2 - Bob's your uncle. (note I can't guarantee %100 this will happen in 17.5...it does in 18) Edited July 19, 2020 by Noobini
