RBD question

Hello, I have a scene where I need boulders to fall and hit the ground with as much impact as possible. I have only been able to get this to look like popcorn where the objects bounce off each other and the ground and it does not seem to matter what density settings or friction I use when I increase these it just starts sticking or going into a slow mo effect etc. 

Could anyone give me some ideas on how I can achieve this? I am using Bullet solver currently.
