cellchuk
Hey kool stuff man.....good goin.....jst wanted to knw how much time did u put in for the actual tornado part doin in houdiniJ thnx psychojay, I actually spent 1 and a half week to create the whole tornado part. However I needed to tweak it everytime during the whole project. But the main system with debris and the birth part took 1 and a half week Edited June 21, 2007 by cellchuk

cellchuk
Nice work! i like a lot the sky, it looks really "dangerous"; Thanx AA74, The sky is the combination of 4 different footages which were re-timed and composited in shake
bandit
nice work. but what i see in sprite tornados in common is,kind of specularity in the body and this realy hurts my eyes. and with this, lot of shots are yelling "i am sprite,i am sprite" if you can eleminate those i am sure the shot will sell itself better than now. cheers. Hi bandit, Thanx for the comments. Thats obvious the tornado still needs some tweaking in terms of lighting and maybe behaviour, but that was all time related. I am willing to fix the problems as soon as possible [when I find the time]. cheers

cellchuk
cool, I will put the breakdown video in a couple of weeks Its a shame that there arent too much source about smoke stuff in houdini but at least we've got the odforce community. cheers. MIguel P
a new sprite shader . hmm that sound good. any new sprite renders miguel (with the new shader) ? cheers I only have tests. I attach one. The main thing I wanted is to have shadows without needing lambertian shading, so the light position doesen't affect the color. MIguel P
That one looks pretty good, getting shadows without using lambertian. sounds a bit tricky. have you already posted the latest network under any other topic. I'd really like to check it out sometime. cheers Thanks! To get shadows without a lightning model you need an iluminance loop. I got the thing looking at the VEX Volume Cloud shader. I attach you a file containing the shader I used in the pictures above. sprite_shader_odforce.hip
