haggi
I'm quite new to houdini. Can anyone give me a hint how to create a light fog in houdini. I mean the visible light rays from a spot light or sun in a dusty or smoky environment. thanks.
jhiggins
you need to create an atmosphere object and attach to it an atmosphere shader. i believe both mantra and rman shaders should work! good luck, jeff I'm quite new to houdini. symek
Here is a fake caustics and rays example but for H8, not sure if it still works in H9: http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com...hlight=caustics Edited September 27, 2007 by SYmek
haggi
Thanks a lot. So it is similiar to the mentalray parti volume in maya. I think this will help a lot.
Jason
Thanks a lot. So it is similiar to the mentalray parti volume in maya. I think this will help a lot. Here is a simple scene that uses some patchy Volumes (in Houdini 9) and renders it. Note I'm raytracing the shadows - you can speed things up if you switch to Depth Map Shadows probably. Raytracing just give instant resultants, useful more as a guide. lightsmoke.hipnc
