New Gallery Layout

Hey all

We've launched a brand new look for the gallery today and we hope that the change makes it better to look at and (of course) easier to use. The facelift is just the beginning of the new changes we have planned for the gallery over the coming months, so stay tuned for more functionality.

If you're a user of the gallery, you'll notice a slightly tweaked management page which should make it easier to navigate and manage your albums. We've also added some useful tips when you add an album to help explain how they're meant to be used.

As always, we'd love any feedback you may have. It keeps us on the straight and narrow ;).

Thanks

Marc

P.S. If you're a gallery user, we'd like to encourage you to add your full name to your forum profile. Right now it's mostly optional, but we'll be enforcing it in the coming months

I was wondering what you guys thought about linking the gallery and forum so that when submitting a post under the WIP forum, the images also reflect under the gallary (under the users name), and if you click on the images in the gallery, it would take you to the forum post.

so to make my self clear, you would start a WIP post, and that would "mirror" the images on the gallery under the user name (you can specify this option [create Gallery Entry]),

however where this becomes usefull, if you were browsing the gallery you could click on the image, and it would have an option to take you to that forum entry.

i think that this would naturally grow the gallery, especially when the images are close to final and encourage people browse the gallery and actually be able to follow a thread based on how the images were made.

how do you guys feel about this ?

good changes to the gallery Marc

I like it.

I also like the direction aracid is going with his idea

of the gallery mirroring some of the work and images posted elsewhere,

perhaps it should be an option,

because I don't want wireframe posts that only show

a knuckle or elbow joint thats posted just for help getting something working.

cheers
