Colorsop / Primitvesop

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

i was wondering which SOP you prefer to give objects its colours.

is there any reason why some users using the primitve SOP for it?

which one do you use?

I heart, that the PrimitiveSOP is super powerful but i didn't figured that out yet.

thank you

This depends where you want your colour to be applied to.

Shaders can 'read' the color from points, primitives - I guess even detail - attributes.

The colorSOP is a HDA that combines different approaches.

If you know what you are after you can use a sop to change the attribute of choice directly.

Or even roll you own in VOPs.

I often use the pointSOP.

Hope this helps.
