I can load an image sequence into the view port via cops in the camera view port , but if you want to render the said background sequence , you have to via Mplay load the said background sequence into mplay. What ever I try Mplay will only load and render the first frame of the background , yet I am rendering frame 117 !! and selcting to load a sequence. You should be able to use an sequence in Mplay as a background image - just make sure you specify a filename with a $F in the name. Perhaps MPlay has a bug that's evaluating out the $F too early, ie, in the File Requestor? I assume you're using a recent Houdini build?
