sealing holes in geometry

Recommended Posts

hi, i tried doing a search, but couldn't find anything based on what i thought it'd be called, so if i just didn't search for the right thing, please send me to the right place.

anyways,

i created a glass tumbler by drawing a curve and revolving it.

that worked fine.

then i went and cut it up. first i used cookies and chopped it up, but then switched to the fracture otl on the sidefx site, which after some clean up, worked up pretty well.

however, the problem i have is when i now break it up with DOPS, my pieces aren't solid. basically, how do i 'thicken' this up?

i included a sample jpg below to show what i mean.

You could try the PolyKnit SOP, perhaps? It's a bit of manual process but it works.

Ideally, look closely at your Cookie SOP settings and their inputs (seems it works best with triangles) to try to fix the problem upstream.
