Separating OBJ Parts

If you middle click on the file SOP you should see some groups you imported geometry comes with. Use delete SOP to separate them. If your geometry is a one big chunk, possible solution would be to apply connectivity sop and partition SOP after it with the $class expression in the Rule field.

I tried that, but I cant get it to work. Could you provide a screenshot to illustrate the concept?

It will be alot faster if u post a hip file with some test obj in a zip file, so that we all can have a look and send u a possible solution.

Ah, I think it's working now. It looks like it was a problem with the build I was using and my computer. Thanks!

with wihich program are you exporting the obj from? im using crosswalk in xsi and the export function in maya quite a lot to bring fbx datas over to houdini.

give it a try. never had problems with geo that way.

I'm exporting from Silo. I'll have to figure out how to try with fbx. Thanks for the heads up.
